“The leaves of the cucumbers in the greenhouse began to wither. Excessive watering does not help. What to do?"
If the turgor of plants is not restored after watering, it means that their conductive system is damaged. And this happens with verticillium or fusarium wilt, root and basal rot.
More often, diseases occur if agricultural practices are violated:
- cucumbers are watered too much or irregularly
- often fed with nitrogen fertilizers.
Temperature changes can also provoke the development of diseases.
The fruits of cucumbers affected by fusarium are bitter. This is due to the fact that toxins accumulate in them as a result of the “activity” of pathogens.
What to do if the cucumber leaves begin to fade?
- Get rid of the sick ones, and spray the remaining plants with a solution of biological fungicides (phytosporin-M or alirin-B). You can also shed the soil in the root zone.
- After watering, loosen the soil or mulch it: air should flow freely to the roots of the plants.
- Feed the cucumbers with phosphorus-potassium or complex fertilizers with microelements.
- Constantly ventilate the greenhouse.
- At the end of the growing season, remove all plant debris and destroy.
- Sow green manure.
- Maintain crop rotation.
