Growing green onions in a pot or any other container is not very convenient - there is a lot of waste, but in fact, few green onions grow. Are there any alternative methods? Even more than that - there are two such methods, and for both it is proposed to grow green onions in... a plastic bag! As a result, you will get a real green harvest without any special difficulties, and you won’t even have to tinker with the soil.
Prepare:
- durable plastic bags;
- onions (preferably small ones);
- sawdust (can be bought at any pet store);
- toilet paper.
The method is very simple and quickly remembered:
- “Brew” a handful of sawdust in a saucepan with boiling water, let them cool, then drain the remaining water. The sawdust should be damp, but not damp—water should not drip from it when pressed.
- Place two large handfuls of sawdust in the bag and compact them a little.
- Meanwhile, prepare the bulbs by cutting off the neck to encourage the growth of green feathers.
- Plant small bulbs in sawdust, placing them tightly together.
- “Inflate” the bag and tie it. Leave it like this until the green feathers grow tall enough. Then you can untie it. This method saturates the bag with carbon dioxide, which is necessary for active plant growth.
The second way is to use plain toilet paper instead of sawdust. Tear off several layers, place in a bag and moisten with water to form a kind of paste. Then repeat all previous manipulations.
The result is a lot of onions in a small space and in a short time!
